Sonic Classic Heroes is a ROM hack for the Sega Mega Drive / Genesis that is the result of a collaboration between flamewing and ColinC10, combining their respective hacks Sonic 2 Heroes and Sonic 1 and 2. It therefore is a single ROM that offers the entire campaigns of Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic the Hedgehog 2, either alone or together; and enables the player to play as many characters such as Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles. The hack is named due to the ability to control a team of characters, which is reminiscent of the more recent 3D game Sonic Heroes.The hack is built on Sonic 2's engine, which has been enhanced by both flamewing and ColinC10 to have new features. These include: multiple gameplay elements from Sonic 3 & Knuckles, such as element shields and character-specific abilities; the ability to save progress, scores, etc. to SRAM (something rarely implemented in Sonic 2, with the other notable example being Esrael's Sonic 2 Delta); various bug-fixes and improvements to the mechanics of the original games; and many more features, both implemented and planned.

Sonic the Hedgehog refers to the Sonic the Hedgehog video game series released by Sega, and starring its eponymous mascot, the video game character Sonic the Hedgehog. The video game series is the primary product in a multimedia franchise, including products in a wide range of media.

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles (or simply Sonic 3 & Knuckles or Sonic 3 Complete Version) is a platform video game which is the result of locking-on Sonic & Knuckles with Sonic the Hedgehog 3 using the former catridge's unique "lock-on" technology. It is essentially a large combined game of its two lock-on components and contains all Zones from the said games and also contains special features unique to this game. This would have been the original Sonic the Hedgehog 3 the developers intended but time constraints by Sega resulted in the game being split into two.

This hack started as a small joke hack, just to see if I could add something we all love to classic Sonic games; micro-transactions. This was more or less a success, although not as I imagined it. Nevertheless, I found myself just adding more and more random bits for substance, and eventually even found myself playing around with something completely foreign to me on the side. This led me to have an idea for a bossfight, and as such GHZ2 boss was born! And by that, I got an idea; What if I make full hack with new boss fights! And since then I've been pretty much adding anything to my mind comes up with, as well ass lots of bosses.But, what is this hack? Well, I dont know to be honest. It was at one point a joke, then a real hack... And then a joke again? I lost track by now. What I do know, is that none of this makes sense, especially the secrets... err, features in this hack.
